Dr. Phoenix | Ruth Pauley Lecture Series

  • Sandhills Community College Owens Auditorium 3395 Airport Road Pinehurst, NC, 28374 United States (map)

"L-G-B-T-I-Q-A and You: Exploring Gender, Identity and Sexual Orientation"

We're extremely fortunate to have such a gifted and knowledgeable speaker bring this message to the Sandhills.

Dr. Phoenix examines just what the LBGTIQA acronym means and what experiences it represents, exploring this diverse community and the contemporary issues that surround it. Phoenix is Director of the LGBTQ Center at UNC-Chapel Hill. T has served on the Executive Board of the National Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals, as Chair of the Board for Safe Schools North Carolina, and on the N.C. ACLU transgender advisory board.

Terri identifies as a transmasculine queer person. Recently, T was featured on Frank Stasio’s “The State of Things” on WUNC, describing Phoenix's life’s journey.

Thank you to the Ruth Pauley Lecture series for sponsoring this event.
